Company Description Ben-Gurion University of the Negev is a leading research university based in Israel, with around 20,000 students and 4,000 faculty members. The university offers a range of disciplines across its various faculties, including Engineering Sciences, Health Sciences, and Natural Sciences, among others. It has three main campuses located in Be’er Sheva, Sede Boqer, and Eilat, and houses several national and multi-disciplinary research institutes. Ben-Gurion University is renowned for its significant contributions to research and development, industry, health care, and education in Israel. Role Description This is a full-time on-site PhD position in Geophysics (aeromagnetic surveying) at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, located in Be’er Sheva. The PhD candidate will engage in comprehensive geophysical research, data collection and analysis, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Daily tasks will include conducting fieldwork, processing geophysical data, developing and testing models, preparing scientific papers and reports, and presenting findings at conferences and seminars. The candidate will also assist in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. This is a collaborative German-Israeli project, funded by DFG and ISF, on the lithospheric structure of the Levant Basin. We aim to fill both positions (@BGU and @Kiel U) by 01/01/20

Qualifications * Strong background in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field * Experience in fieldwork and data collection * Skills in data analysis, modeling, and simulation * Proficiency in scientific writing and preparation of reports and papers * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team * Master’s degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field is preferred * Experience with programming languages (Python) is a must
