About Fijoya Fijoya builds modern infrastructure for benefits and healthcare payments, sitting at the intersection of fintech, healthcare, and employee benefits. We’re a fast-moving startup focused on reducing complexity and improving how people pay for coverage. Responsibilities * Design, build, and own backend systems powering complex, LLM-driven, and agentic product experiences. * Architect and implement scalable, reliable backend services for production use. * Work closely with product, data, and engineering to translate ambiguous requirements into robust technical solutions. * Design systems that balance performance, cost, reliability, and iteration speed. * Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production reliability. * Drive best practices around code quality, testing, observability, and security. * Take technical ownership of critical systems and guide architectural decisions. Requirements: * 3+ years of professional backend engineering experience, including production systems at scale. * Proven experience building and operating customer-facing, LLM and agent-based applications in production. * Experience designing and implementing complex backend logic and stateful workflows. * Hands-on experience with cloud-based architectures and scalable backend infrastructure. * Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows. * Experience scaling backend systems to support growing usage and evolving product requirements. * Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity and fast iteration. * Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines. Nice to have * Hands-on experience building user interfaces using React Native and Node.js.Familiarity with the fintech domain, including payments, financial workflows, or transaction-based systems. * Experience working with data, including analytics, data pipelines, experimentation, or data-driven decision-making.
