Wilmot Cancer Center Open Date Oct 15, 2025 Salary Range or Pay Grade $338,000 to $501,000 a year Description The Wilmot Cancer Institute, a newly designated National Cancer Institute (NCI) cancer center, at the University of Rochester Medical Center, is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Director of the Breast Medical Oncology Program. THE POSITION As a central hub for cancer care, research, education, and community outreach across Central and Western New York, Wilmot offers an exceptional environment for innovation and collaboration. The Breast Oncology Program is a robust, multidisciplinary team that includes experts in surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, breast imaging, and pathology. The Director will lead a team of five full
• time medical oncologists dedicated to breast cancer care and research. This leadership role offers the opportunity to:
• Direct the breast medical oncology group and oversee the clinical research portfolio
• Expand and enhance the existing breast oncology clinical trial program
• Recruit and mentor junior faculty
• Contributes to the growth and strategic direction of a nationally recognized cancer institute The ideal candidate will be expected to be a trusted colleague, clinician, investigator, and leader, and build productive relationships with teams across Wilmot, URMC, and UR Medicine, faculty, staff, residents, and fellows. Candidates will need to lead an active clinical practice, supporting clinical trial accruals and contributing to ongoing clinical and translational research, and ideally building relationships across the clinical and basic science departments, funded investigators, clinical trials office.
