• Lower Level Chicago, IL 60608 All Adult Probation Department worksites as assigned ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Daily sorting and transporting of various types of correspondences, mail, files and material to and from various locations Delivery of supplies and miscellaneous items to various locations. Special deliveries as required. Assist with transporting vehicles. Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Residency in Illinois within 90 days of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license and provide proof of clean driving record. Must have ability to or willing to learn to operate large trucks and vans, CDL is preferred. Ability to use navigation tools such as smartphone apps, and/or web
• based or physical maps. Ability to understand and follow a series of instructions with limited supervision. Ability to read and prepare a variety of reports, forms, logs, lists and correspondence using prescribed formats. Ability to correctly sort and distribute large amounts of material and/or mail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Possess a minimum of a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate’s degree or higher preferred. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of and/or ability to quickly learn warehouse codes and terminology. Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures, including functions relating to inventory, stock control and record keeping. Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory. Must be available to work hours commensurate with those of assigned Department. Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the entire body. This will include climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, carrying, and stooping. Must be able to lift and move up to 100 pounds. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds at all times. Must be able to wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, and operate a variety of power equipment and machinery, including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, box cutters or similar tools. Must be able to walk, sit, or drive a vehicle for prolonged periods. Must be able to quickly enter and exit vehicles and/or buildings throughout workday. Must be able to perform work in all types of weather. Must have ability to move around and perform work in the warehouse, loading docks or record room(s).
