סקירה כללית
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher in Electrochemistry & Cell Design to join our R&D organization, contributing to the development of next‑generation electrochemical systems for CO₂ capture. In this role, you will bridge materials science, electrochemistry, and system engineering to design, test, and optimize membrane–electrode assemblies (MEAs), flow fields (FF), and cell architectures that drive device performance, efficiency, and durability. You will work closely with the Materials & Formulation, Process Development, and Systems Engineering teams to transform advanced materials and manufacturing processes into high‑performing, scalable electrochemical cells. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, experiment‑driven environment and wants to have a real impact on climate‑tech innovation. You will play a central role in developing the electrochemical core of the technology, directly impacting capture efficiency, energy consumption, durability, and scalability. Key Responsibilities * Develop, optimize, and integrate flow field (FF) designs, and electrochemical configurations for next-generation carbon capture cells. * Define and specify operational windows for new cell architectures. * Perform root‑cause analysis on failures and degradation trends. * Evaluate performance metrics such as capture rate, energy consumption, resistance, and mass‑transport behavior. * Develop protocols for durability evaluation under accelerated aging conditions. * Work closely with Materials & Formulation team to link material properties to electrochemical performance, and to propose new electrochemical configurations. * Maintain high level of knowledge-documentation and organization. * Collaborate with Support Systems/Stack Engineering by integrating optimized MEAs into prototype stacks. * Develop tools and workflows for automated or semi‑automated data analysis. * Contribute to IP and patents. Qualifications Required: * PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. * At least 3 years of relevant experience working in an industry-based R&D role, contributing to the development and validation of commercial or pre-commercial products, preferably in a fast-moving tech or climate-tech company. * Strong analytical and experimental skills. * Strong communication and teamwork. * Curiosity and problem‑solving mindset, with a “can-do” attitude. Advantage: * Experience with MEA development, flow fields, or gas‑diffusion systems. * Familiarity with nickel hydroxide electrochemistry. * Experience with EIS modeling, CFD, or EC modeling.
