About the role Surense is looking for a production-minded Full-Stack Engineer to join our hands-on R&D team. This is a highly technical role focused on owning complex production issues end-to-end, driving root-cause fixes in code, and improving reliability and observability, while also contributing to product engineering when needed. We are looking for someone versatile, independent, and dynamic — an engineer who can move smoothly between code development and real-time production analysis, and who is eager to learn, investigate, and solve problems with strong ownership. What you’ll do * Own complex production bugs end-to-end: reproduce, debug, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver permanent fixes * Develop and ship backend and frontend changes (Java/Spring Boot, React) with high quality standards * Work closely with R&D, CS, DevOps, and Product to triage issues, prioritize fixes, and improve customer experience * Improve observability: logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks to reduce recurring issues * Analyze production behavior using application logs, access logs, database queries, and system-level signals * Contribute to stability and performance initiatives across services, APIs, data flows, and integrations * Support release quality through testing, CI/CD improvements, and safer deployments on AWS (and Kubernetes where applicable) * Work in Linux-based environments and use shell tools/scripts to investigate and resolve production issues * Use modern engineering tools and AI-assisted workflows where relevant to improve productivity and troubleshooting Requirements * 3+ years as a Full-Stack Engineer (strong backend), with production experience — must * Proven hands-on development in Java (Spring / Spring Boot) — must * Experience with React * Strong understanding of web architectures, REST APIs, databases (SQL / NoSQL), and distributed systems * Solid debugging skills in data-driven systems (logs, traces, DB queries, edge cases) * Experience working in Linux environments * Experience with Docker — must * Experience working with Git * Experience writing and working with Bash scripts * Experience analyzing access logs and production runtime behavior * AWS experience — must * Experience with Kubernetes — advantage * Experience with AWS or GCP — advantage * Experience working with AI agents / AI coding tools (such as Cursor or Claude) — advantage * Excellent communication, ownership, prioritization, and independent learning skills * Ability to work dynamically across both code development and production issue investigation * Experience in Insurance / Fintech — advantage Equal Opportunity We hire and employ without discrimination based on race, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic — all qualified candidates are welcome to apply.
